Nestle 4 Healthier Kids in Action – Kenya

Visiting the N4HK programme in Kenya proved to be not only educational but also inspiring. The N4HK programme has been in existence for 10 year and has reached over 0ver 890 Schools, in 8 counties, 1500 teachers, 700,000 pupils and over 250 gardens.

This programme is part of the general Hygiene and nutrition curriculum and not only does it educate it feeds the school populations. Kids get to learn about food, but then get to eat the fruit of their labour in the form of meals at school using the veggies from the gardens they are involved in. Some schools feed as much as a 1500 kids every day, using the veggies they grow in the school food gardens.
